college?

HI IM HERE. safe and sound in the Thistle Bloomsbury Hotel in London, where they make you pay 10pounds for 24 hrs of wifi, even though they charge about 42pounds/person/room ($84) already. pah!

London is chilly, a bit colder than Berkeley cuz of the wind, but thus far it hasn't snowed yet, and the weather is still bearable. supposedly Warwick won't be as windy or expen$ive, as it is a college-town.

oh and today on the 10-hr flight, judy and i were lucky enough to sit by a 20-yr old student who told us alot about the school system and entertainment in london. she showed us the hot spots and good landmarks to see on my waterproof/untearable/colored/detailed london map (thanks cochair!) good thing we didn't sit next to some old fogie who wouldn't know what cool places there were to visit.

anyway, did you know that here, secondary school only goes up to grade 11, then 'college' = grades 12-13, and 'university' = grades 14-16? whereas in the US, 'college' colloquially = 'university' = 4 yr institution, typically grades 13-16.

YAH WELL I THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING that we have 1 less school to go to. haha and college age < uni age

+ more happened today! (i.e. andrew visited us and took us around central london, and i got 2 sim cards and a free [crappy] phone), but too tired and it's 11:36pm here and i gotta get over jetlag.
